D’DAY – NORMANDIE
WBC Paris 2025
From the History of D-Day to Norman Flavors
Explore the beautiful Normandy countryside on a fully guided day trip to the D-Day sites, and discover the rich traditions of Normandy at a typical cider and Calvados farm. Travel to the D-Day beaches through the beautiful Normandy countryside and visit the Utah Beach Museum, located in a former German bunker on the beach where American troops landed. Learn about the intricate planning of Operation Overlord and hear the heartwarming stories of ordinary men and women whose actions shaped Europe as we know it today. The museum offers unrivalled views of Utah Beach and is home to the world’s last surviving B-26 aircraft.
Enjoy a Norman-style lunch of freshly prepared seasonal produce in a restaurant overlooking the port of Grandcamp Maisy. Next, stop at a cider-making establishment and sample local ciders and Calvados (apple brandy) in a large 17th-century barn. Next, head to Pointe du Hoc to see the German clifftop defense that was heroically taken by American Rangers during the D-Day landings. Overlooking the English Channel, this site has remained largely unchanged for over half a century, with its original German fortifications and bomb craters still visible.
Pay your respects at the Colleville-sur-Mer American Cemetery, located on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach. Theodore Roosevelt Junion, President Roosevelt’s son and Medal of Honor recipient, is buried here along with nearly 10,000 other soldiers.
